Girls! Since class was cancelled on Friday, you girls have homework. Write a one page response to the pdf article I have attached. You can write your thoughts about what you read. You can write a Staycation suggestion for Ternopil people, etc. Enjoy it and I'll see you Wednesday with your one page typed response.

Americans are not as rich and carefree as always shown on TV. Many people have real problems and a lot of debt. Many people live paycheck to paycheck and have to eat McDonalds just because it's cheaper than "real" food. Here's a copy of an article about the housing situation for lower class Americans.

I know that you guys like to sound smart. You want to use your fabulous vocabulary to show off your knowledge and whatnot, but sometimes, using good vocabulary sounds robotic. If you are writing a news story, try to make it sound interesting. Write about "the people of Ivanchany" rather than "the inhabitants of Ivanchany." People is friendlier. I want to read about people. Reading about inhabitants is impersonal and boring.

It's ok to be smart and to have great vocabulary, but when you write and when you talk to people (especially Americans), it's better to just be normal rather than to show off your awesome vocabulary skills.

Talk to your teacher about coming. :)

Friends is pretty much my favorite show on earth. I watched this clip last night and couldn't stop laughing.
