Many of the girls in 42.2 like the Vampire Diaries. I love this show as well. Instead of writing traditional scary Halloween stories, we tried to write our stories in diary format. They were pretty good. The girls kept the copies of the stories they wrote. This was the only story I got to keep. Enjoy.

Dear Diary,

Today started like a normal day. But then weird things started happening. At 11 this morning, I started seeing men in black capes outside the TNPU building. The guards did nothing so I ignored it. But I was confused when they came to me with a strange request: “Trick-or-Treat.” I started calling for help. So I decided to call my boyfriend. But I stopped for a minute. Which one should I call, Volodymyr or Andriy? Hmm… So I called Andriy and said, “Andriy, my dear! Can you help me? I’m very scared. But in answer I heard nothing. He ended the call. I was surprised. I called him again and heard a man, but it wasn’t my boyfriend. It was a stranger. His voice was sharp and rude. “Everything is gonna happen today at 12 AM,” he said. I thought it was a joke and I decided to call Volodymyr but when he answered, I heard that strange voice. He warned me, “stop playing with two poor boys, you need to choose just one you crazy girl!” In despair, I called my mum. She was angry because Andriy was standing near her and telling her about my meetings with Volodymyr. It was sad. Then my mum locked me in my room and didn’t let me go out until I chose one of them. It was a really hard question for me.

Happy Halloween in a few days! Here are a few short chain stories written by the brave students of group 42.1. The authors include the teacher: Sharece Bunn, and the students: Andrii Dydyna, Oksana Rymar, Oksana Bagriy, and Katya Bazylinska.

As you can see, many of the stories are a little bit crazy and strange. They don’t always make perfect sense, but that’s a part of chain stories. We work together to create something interesting. Sometimes the stories turn out great. Sometimes they don’t. I hope you enjoy these.

Story #1:

One dark Halloween night, I saw my friend Katya on the street in a cat costume. We had prepared our costumes together for the past week. As I stood there on the street, I realized that Katya’s costume is much better than mine. I decided that I had to do something. I snuck up behind her and started to meow. She turned around, but I had already ducked out of the way. She started to walk again. I saw my friend Jordan and I signaled him to come over. The two of us started to follow Katya. Suddenly we realized that Katya had prepared her costume like mine intentionally. She wanted us to follow her. The place Katya lead us to was a dark graveyard. We didn’t know what she was going to do, but we were a bit scared. The strong wind started to blow. But after a few minutes, it stopped. Katya sat on the bench in the dark yard and began to eat her candies. We also wanted some candy, but we couldn’t ask her for any.

Story #2:

One dark Halloween night, when the moon was high in the sky, I heard a terrible noise outside my house. Someone was screaming very loudly. I was terribly scared, wondering, who can it be? And what happened? But I didn’t want to go out so I decided to call the police. When the police came, they said that there was nobody near my house. They said that it was just my imagination. So they asked me not to call them again. But when they left, I heard the screaming again. I couldn’t stay inside. I had to know what it was. I opened the back door and walked outside. I heard nothing but the wind. “Crap! I forgot my flashlight,” I said to myself. I reached into my pocket. My keychain has a mini light on it. So I started to walk. I didn’t take more than ten steps before I stumbled onto a cat that was screaming like a man. At once, I remembered the cat from Master and Margarita that embodied the devil. He began to talk to me. “You should come with me!” and bang! After this I don’t remember anything. The next day I woke up and my mother was shocked. Why was I lying in the neighbor’s garden with their dog?

Story #3:

One dark Halloween night, a young girl was going with her friend to a Halloween party. But their car broke down near the forest. There was nobody who could help them. The young girl, whose name was Liza, started yelling for help. That’s when she heard the rustling of the leaves. She stopped and turned around. A masked man was walking towards her. “Help!” she yelled and she started running away from him, because in the moonlight, she could tell that he was a vampire with big teeth. He jumped up and flew away. Liza was lost in the forest. She was screaming and her echoes were heard throughout the woods. Suddenly the vampire appeared in front of her. His face was dirty. It was terrible. He showed his teeth and wanted to bite the girl. And from that time nobody heard about this young girl, but there’s a legend that every Halloween night, her ghost appears in the forest.

Story #4:

One dark Halloween night, there was a black cat walking through the graveyard. He was sniffing around for some dinner when he stumbled upon a crime scene. In front of a grave marked “Jonathon Woodson, there was a man, who had dug out one of the graves and was trying to get the wedding ring from Jonathon’s decayed fingers. The black cat thought suddenly about the tasty smell of that finger. He jumped onto the body of the dead man and bit off his finger with the ring. At that moment the dead man opened his eyes and looked at that man who was trying to get the wedding ring from Jonathon’s decayed fingers. The man started to scream but there was nobody to help him. He didn’t know what to do. His stupidity is what brought this story to the paper. As far as we know, the cat got away with a tasty finger-meal. The dead man is jus a zombie wandering the earth, but the stupid man, the one who dug up the man with the ring, he was found dead the morning after Halloween. His head was ripped apart and his brain was gone. We can only assume that the zombie ate his brain.
